Man arrested after police pursuit ends in crash in Sydney

A man has been arrested after a police pursuit ended in a head-on collision in Sydney's south-west.

Police tried to stop a stolen Holden Captiva on Badgally Road, Claymore, about 1.15pm today.

The driver failed to stop and police started a pursuit, which was stopped shortly after due to safety concerns.

The Holden collided head-on with a Nissan Pathfinder on Gregory Hills Road, Gregory Hills, a short time later.

Police arrested the 20-year-old driver of the stolen Holden.

Both the driver and the driver of the Nissan, a woman in her 40s, were treated at the scene by paramedics.

A man has been arrested after the police pursuit ended in a head-on crash in Sydney's south-west.

The 20-year-old was taken to Liverpool Hospital under police guard in a stable condition.

The woman was taken to Campbelltown Hospital also in a stable condition.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.
