A snake has served as a hero to small animals trying to escape rising Queensland floodwaters.
Frogs, mice and beetles were seen riding on the back of a large snake in vision uploaded online.
While the species is unclear the animal appears to be an eastern brown snake, which typically preys on mice and frogs.

The scene was filmed inside a rain-water tank in Western Queensland after heavy rain hit the state.
Rescuers were seen trying to help the smaller creatures by using a long yellow pole, but this only agitated the water causing the snake to swim laps.
9News understands all animals were rescued from the tank.
