Man wanted for attempted murder arrested in Melbourne

A South Australian fugitive wanted for attempted murder has been arrested this morning at a property in Melbourne's northern suburbs.

Gang Crime Squad detectives, with the assistance of the dog squad, executed a search warrant at a Peppercorn Parade address in Epping, arresting a 23-year-old South Australian man this morning.

Gang Crime Squad detectives have arrested a man wanted in South Australia for attempted murder.

His arrest follows a brawl at a licensed premises on Grenfell Street in Adelaide on Sunday, March 13 where several victims were stabbed or assaulted with weapons.

Knives and a machete were used and six were taken to hospital as a result of the brawl.

After the incident happened in March, South Australia Police Chief Inspector Matt Nairn said the situation was "very concerning".

Detectives from South Australia Police's Operation MELD Taskforce will arrive in Melbourne tomorrow to apply for his extradition.

He will face Melbourne Magistrates' Court later today.
