A primary school aged child is in critical condition following a collision in Victoria's west this afternoon.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said paramedics were called to the collision in Bunkers Hill, in Ballarat's west, just before 5pm.

An air ambulance has been dispatched.

The spokesperson said there were multiple patients who are in a stable condition.
