Primary school students have been left traumatised after a number of their pet chickens were slaughtered in regional Victoria.
A Victoria Police spokesperson said an unknown male had entered White Hills Primary School in Bendigo around 7pm on July 13.
"The man jumped a fence into the school's chicken coop, killing a number of chickens and then fleeing the scene, taking some of the chickens with him," the spokesperson said.
