Apple AirTag helps police find car allegedly stolen by teens

A man has helped police find his stolen car because heput an Apple AirTag inside it.

The man heard his Nissan Navara being stolen at 3am in the Adelaide suburb of Seaford Rise when it hit garbage bins as it was allegedly being stolen.

However, the man's Apple AirTag tracking device inside the car led police to the vehicle on nearby Telegraph Road.

AirTags emit a Bluetooth signal that is picked up by Apple products.

Police said the car had already been abandoned but police dog Rusty four three boys, aged 14, 19 and 13, nearby.

They were arrested.

The 13-year old boy, from Morphett Vale, and the 14-year-old, from Burton, are expected to be charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle and theft.

The 19-year old man, from Seaford Meadows, has been charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle and theft.

He has been refused bail and will appear in Christies Beach Magistrates Court later today.
