'Frenzied attack': Man arrested after two bodies found in Brisbane home

Police say they were faced with a "traumatic" crime scene after a man and woman were found dead in their home in Brisbane's south this morning.

It will be alleged the man and woman were the victims of a "frenzied attack" and police have confirmed two "bladed weapons" were seized from the property.

A 49-year-old man was taken into custody after alerting police to the incident in the home on Coolidge Court in Stretton around 9.40am on Monday.

Crime scene established in Stretton Brisbane after two people were found dead.

The victims are yet to be identified but police confirmed the man, believed to be in his early 20s, and woman, believed to be in her 40s, are of Cantonese descent.

Brisbane Regional Crime Coordinator Detective Superintendent Andrew Massingham said the scene was confronting for forensic investigators.

"The scene is quite traumatic in terms of a large amount of blood that is present and from the evidence in that area and the weapons that were seized and the observations of the deceased, it was quite accurate the attack could be described (as frenzied)," he said.

An autopsy will be conducted tomorrow and investigators are working to formally identify the victims.

Massingham said the 49-year-old man had received first aid and was transported to a Brisbane hospital this morning for treatment of arm and leg injuries.

It's believed he has a connection to the residence but the nature of the relationship has not been confirmed.

Police confirmed the crime scene was particularly confronting.

"There were some language difficulties with the interpretation of what he was saying, an interpreter was used by the triple zero service," Massingham said.

"He has exercised his right to silence and has requested the presence of a solicitor."

Police will analyse CCTV from outside the home.

Any witnesses who saw any unusual behaviour around the home are urged to contact police.

"It was evident upon arrival and in police viewing the video that we have seen that they needed to transverse those stairs to the second level where something had occurred," Massingham said.

Parts of Coolidge Court have been closed off while police investigate the deaths, which are being treated as suspicious.

Neighbours told 9News the residents of the property were lovely people who kept to themselves.

"They're nice people, have always been nice people," one resident said.

"Very quiet, polite, well-mannered."

Another neighbour said he had spoken with police about what had happened.

"They told me it's not good … it sounds pretty morbid," he said.
