Teen girl arrested after stabbing at regional NSW school

A teenage girl has been arrested after a student was stabbed at a school in regional New South Wales.

Emergency services were called to Canobolas Rural Technology High School in Orange about 1pm after reports a student had been stabbed.

Police found a 16-year-old girl suffering stab wounds to her chest and arm.

Canobolas Rural Technology High School in Orange NSW.NSW Ambulance leaving Canobolas Rural Technology High School after the alleged teenage stabbing.

She was treated by ambulance units at the scene and has since been taken to Orange Health Service in a stable condition.

"A 15-year-old girl was arrested at the scene and taken to Orange Police Station where she is assisting police with inquiries," NSW Police said in a statement.

Officers will hold a press conference shortly to address the incident.
