A young boy is in a serious condition after being attacked by a dingo on K'gari.

The five-year-old suffered injuries to his head, arm and back in the attack.

It happened at Ocean Lake campground on the island, formerly known as Fraser Island.

He is being flown by helicopter to hospital.
