The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) has been progressively enhancing the free movement of workers among its member states.

Initially, the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME) facilitated the movement of specific categories of skilled nationals, including university graduates, media workers, artists, musicians, sportspersons, nurses, teachers, artisans with a Caribbean Vocational Qualification, and holders of associate degrees or comparable qualifications.
