Legendary fitness guru and TV personality Richard Simmons has reportedly died aged 76.

Simmons was found by police in his Los Angeles home 10pm Saturday (local time), according to reports from multiple media outlets including including ABC News TMZ.

US celebrity news outlet People Magazine has also reported that Simmons' longtime publicist, Tom Estey, confirmed his death to them.

Police are reportedly examining whether the 76-year-old had suffered a fall.

Simmons died just two days after celebrating his 76th birthday.

In recent days, he'd been sharing updates about his personal life and health.

"Thank you…I never got so many messages about my birthday in my life! I am sitting here writing emails. Have a most beautiful rest of your Friday. Love," he wrote just yesterday in an x post.

Simmons rose to fame in the 1970s and 80s for his aerobics videos and was well-known for his flamboyant personality.

The BBC racing commentator whose wife and two of their daughters were killed in a crossbow attack has released a statement.

John Hunt and his surviving daughter Amy said their devastation "cannot be put into words" after the deaths of Carol Hunt, 61, Hannah Hunt, 28, and Louise Hunt, 25.

"We would like to thank people for their kind messages and for the support we have received in recent days," Mr Hunt and Amy said in the statement.

"These have provided great comfort to us for which we are very grateful."

They said they needed space to "start the grieving process".

"While this is happening, we would ask that our privacy and that of our wider family and relations be respected at this time. Thank you."

Mrs Hunt and two of the couple's daughters were found with serious injuries at their home in the quiet residential neighbourhood of Bushey, north-east of London, on Tuesday evening.

Police and ambulance crews tried to save them but they were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police on Friday formally arrested a 26-year-old man on suspicion of killing the sisters and their mother.

He was in a serious condition in a hospital.

Police previously said that Kyle Clifford had been captured on Wednesday in a cemetery near his home in Enfield, about 24 kilometres from the scene of the crimes, following a near day-long manhunt.

Officers who found Clifford recovered a crossbow and took him away on a stretcher from Lavender Hill Cemetery with undisclosed injuries. Police said no shots had been fired.

The head of Hamas' military wing, Mohammed Deif, was the target of an attack in Gaza that has left at least 71 dead, an Israel official confirmed.

The Gaza Health Ministry said 71 people were killed in the Israeli attack on Saturday in the south of the war-stricken enclave.

The ministry said 289 others were injured in the attack that struck the Khan Younis area. It said that many of the injured and dead were taken to nearby Nasser Hospital.

At the hospital, Associated Press journalists counted over 40 bodies and witnesses there described an attack that included several strikes.

The Princess of Wales is set to attend the Wimbledon men's final on Sunday in a rare public appearance after her cancer diagnosis.

Kensington Palace confirmed on Saturday that Kate, wife of heir to the throne Prince William, will be in the Royal Box on Centre Court to watch defending champion Carlos Alcaraz play Novak Djokovic.

However, she will not attend Saturday's women's final between Jasmine Paolini and Barbora Krejcikova. Wimbledon organisers said the winner's trophy will instead be handed out by Deborah Jevans, the chair of the All England Club.

Kate has been the patron of the All England Club since 2016, with ceremonial duties that include handing out the winner's trophy after each men's and women's singles final.

But she has only one made one public appearance since announcing in March that she had been diagnosed with cancer, which was to attend the birthday parade for King Charles III last month.

Kate released a statement before that event saying she was "making good progress" but still had "good days and bad days" as she continued her treatment.

Prince William has also been a regular at Wimbledon finals but will not be at Sunday's match. He will instead attend the football final between England and Spain at the European Championship in Germany. William is the president of the English Football Association.

Queen Camilla, wife of King Charles III, visited Wimbledon on Wednesday.

Veteran radio presenter Ron E Sparks has died, aged 73.

Tributes from former colleagues flowed in for the veteran broadcaster, who is understood to have died from cancer.

"We are devastated to announce the heartbreaking news of the passing of former WSFM announcer Ron E Sparks," hosts Brendan "Jonesy" Jones and Amanda Keller said in a statement on social media.

"Ron E Sparks was one of the greatest announcers in the history of the world. He needs to be made a big deal of," Jones said.

Over a 50 year career, Sparks was a broadcaster at several Sydney radio stations, including 2SM, 2UW, Triple M and Today FM.

"A great man died today," 2GB's Ben Fordham said in a statement on X.

"Ron E Sparks was a talented radio host and a fine man."

Fordham said he had become neighbours with Sparks several years ago, forging a strong friendship.

A teenager was rushed to hospital after violence erupted during an 18th birthday gathering in Queensland.

A 16-year-old was allegedly stabbed with a knife outside the Morayfield home in the early hours of this morning.

Rani Brell was hosting his brother's 18th birthday party and claims a group of people arrived uninvited.

Brell said he knew one of the people, so he let them inside.

"Everyone was having a good time, everyone was chill," he said.

"But then they started going through our rooms, searching through our stuff."

Brell said he asked them to leave, but claimed that after the group went outside he was threatened and hit in the back of the head.

Brell suffered a gash to his head and bruises to his back from a baseball bat.

Video provided to 9News showed a brawl taking place outside the house.

One person pulled out a knife, allegedly stabbing the 16-year-old.

Another person could be heard begging for the attack to end.

A group was then seen fleeing, with emergency crews arriving soon after.

The injured teenager was taken to hospital in a serious condition with stab wounds to his chest and abdomen.

A blood-soaked shirt was left behind, and a neighbour's vehicle was vandalised.

Police are still searching for the group responsible.

Outgoing CMFEU boss John Setka has received an icy farewell from Prime Minister Anthony Albanese following revelations that alleged organised crime figures had infiltrated the group.

The controversial union heavyweight stepped down yesterday ahead of a joint investigation by 9News, 60 Minutes and The Age, which is set to be published this weekend and which alleges serious misconduct by some union members.

When asked about the abrupt resignation, Albanese replied: "Good."

"John Setka has no legitimate place in the Labor movement," the prime minister said at a press conference today.

"It should be condemned, it should be isolated, should be stamped out."

A months-long investigation has revealed bikies and criminals have been acting as CFMEU delegates and working on both state and federal projects.

In one instance, a convicted criminal and bikie figure was on a $250,000 government-funded salary on a Big Build worksite and even used a Hurstbridge Line Upgrade vehicle to engage in gang activities. 

Among the underworld figures linked to the union are former Hells Angels bikie Luke Moloney, Hells Angel Enforcer Sammy "The Turk" Erkan, Mick Gatto, convicted criminal Johnny "Two Guns" Walker and Mongols boss Tyrone "Little Ty" Bell.

Setka has knocked backed the allegations, which he claims are false, saying "we're not a criminal organisation, we're a union".

"I'm just sick and tired of these stories," he told 9News. 

Setka was due to leave the union at the end of the year but resigned, effective immediately, last night after the union was sent detailed questions relating to the investigation. 

He weathered many storms over his 12 years as CFMEU secretary. He has also been convicted of domestic violence offences. 

Last month he helped secure members a 21 per cent pay rise. 

In light of the news, South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas has asked police to investigate potential union-bikie links in his state and pressure is now growing on Victoria Premier Jacinta Allan to act.

A government spokesperson said: "Our expectations are clear. There is zero tolerance for illegal behaviour. John Setka has resigned, as he should."

Three jackpots were won last month alone. Largest single prize claimed in ’24 was $30m.

Sydney commuters were stuck in a train for about two hours after the service was affected by a signalling communications issue.

A train on the North West Metro Line came to a sudden stop between Cherrybrook and Epping about 8.15am today.

A buzzing sound reverberated through the entire train, spooking the hundreds of passengers.

"We were on our way to the airport, missed my flight," Halle Farr told 9News.

"It broke down, it was really loud, the aircon turned off, it was so scary.

"They just kept repeating the same thing like stay calm, we know it's broken down and that it'll be fixed soon."

Authorities worked to find out what caused the outage but were unable to resolve it until about 10.30am.

After the train finally made it to Epping hours later, the entire station was shut down and commuters were redirected onto replacement buses.

By 11am, the platforms were reopen and trains were running again.

Metro Trains Sydney acknowledged the effect the issue had on passengers, apologising for the major delays caused.

"We acknowledge the time taken to resolve the issue is not good enough and we will continue reviewing our incident processes," a spokesperson said.
