A search for a British TV doctor who vanished in the Greek Islands will now focus on a maze of tunnels known as 'The Abyss'.

Dr Michael Mosley was last seen on Wednesday after he left friends to go on a coastal walk along Saint Nicholas Beach on the Greek Island of Symi.

At least 100 rescuers and volunteers, including a helicopter, have been scouring the area between Agios Nikolaos and the island's main town in search of the 67-year-old.

Firefighters are now probing an area dubbed The Abyss, a water-filled cave tunnel system believed to be kilometres long.

Greek authorities believe that Mosley may have been on a walk at the time, with the local Mayor commenting that it was an unusual route to have taken.

In a statement yesterday, Mosley's wife Clare said the days in which her husband went missing were "the longest and most unbearable".

"The search is ongoing and our family are so incredibly grateful to the people of Symi, the Greek authorities and the British Consulate who are working tirelessly to help find Michael," she said.

The couple's four children are on their way to the island to aid in the search. 

Mosley is well-known in Britain for his regular appearances on television and radio and for his column in the Daily Mail newspaper.

He is known outside the UK for his 2013 book The Fast Diet, which he co-authored with journalist Mimi Spencer.

The "5:2 diet" set out how people can lose weight fast by minimising their calorie intake for two days a week while eating healthily on the other five.

He has subsequently introduced the Fast 800 diet, a rapid weight loss program, and has made a number of films about diet and exercise.

Mosley has often pushed his body to extreme lengths to see the effects of his diets and also lived with tapeworms in his guts for six weeks for the BBC documentary Infested! Living With Parasites.

A Melbourne grandmother has had two surgeries this week after being left with a shattered foot in a Marketplace sale gone wrong.

The Shepparton woman is now demanding Facebook increase security of it's online trading site, claiming a man used a fake account to organise an opportunity to steal the car she was selling on there.

Rebekah Streader won't be able to walk for months after her foot was crushed by the car she was trying to sell on Facebook Marketplace.

She didn't want to sell her Holden ClubSport.

But the single mum, who works at Coles, says she desperately needed cash to keep a roof over her family's head.

Streader posted an ad on Facebook Marketplace and, through there, a man looking to buy the car, organised a time for a test drive.

Streader's Ring door bell captured the moment he turned up at her home but it didn't record what happened next.

When the man asked for a test drive, Streader handed him the keys but before she could jump in the passenger seat, he locked the car doors.

The grandmother says she pleaded for him to stop but instead – in full view of her 15 year-old son – the man ran over her foot before speeding off.

"I was banging on the window asking him to stop because this car is something I had bought years ago and I thought 'I can't lose it. I can't afford to lose it', Streader told 9News wiping away tears.

"Facebook needs a big change. It's too easy for people to be scammed or ripped off."

Streader has tried to track the man down on Facebook but believes he messaged her from a fake profile.

She has described him as about 170 centimetres tall, with a medium build and a goatee.

Police have been notified and are investigating.

Meanwhile, friends are raising money on GoFundMe to help the grandmother get back on her feet.

A young woman who was allegedly raped in the back of an Uber has told a court she is traumatised and terrified.

Mohamad Yahiya, the 44-year-old Pakenham man was denied bail in Melbourne's Magistrate's court on Friday evening.

The man allegedly raped the 19-year-old in the back seat of his car on Batman Street in West Melbourne, a court was told.

Police say the 19-year-old woman had just left a Flinders Street nightclub when Yahiya pulled over and allegedly offered her a ride home.

The court heard that within minutes of entering the car, the teenager sent her friend a message by phone reading "help…plz".

The court heard that the 44-year-old allegedly showed his young passenger condoms, and told her: "It won't take long, I'll finish really fast."

It is alleged he then raped the teenager in the back seat of his car, then left her on the side of the road.

Yahiya was charged with rape and false imprisonment on Thursday.

The Burmese refugee is married with a daughter, both of whom live in the Philippines.

The woman told police she had been drinking at the nightclub but was not drunk.

The court heard that she is traumatised and was terrified at the prospect of her alleged attacker being released into the community.

"The predatory nature of the offending is such I do consider him a risk to other women in the community," Magistrate Gregory Robinson said.

The alleged offender's Uber account was suspended.

If found guilty Mohamad Yahiya could face a hefty prison sentence.

He will return to court later this year.

Chaos unfolded at Sydney's annual light show Vivid Sydney overnight as thousands of people crammed onto the harbour foreshore to catch a glimpse of the drone show.

Scores of people packed Circular Quay to view the Love is in the Air drone show about 9.10pm.

The show features 700 drones creating "stunning symbols of love including a love heart, cupid's arrow, flowers" over the harbour, according to Vivid organisers.

Spectators have criticised the festival's lack of crowd control after people became trapped, forcing police to remove surrounding barriers.

The crowd level was reportedly on par with New Year's Eve celebrations as additional people turned out over the long weekend.

The police mounted unit was called in and an ambulance was spotted at the scene while crowds attempted to walk from the overseas passenger terminal to Wynyard Station.

Spectators who turned out to last night's event told 9News they were swarmed by massive crowds.

"Yeah, we just came down from Argyle Street and there was just a massive crowd of people and we were like, oh my God, I've never seen this many people in the rocks," one woman said.

"Heaps of people like pushing through and people with prams and trolleys."

"It's packed. Yeah, there's I couldn't put a number on it. There'd be, you know, thousands upon thousands of people," another said.

Earlier on Saturday Vivid posted to X, formerly Twitter, advising people to instead view the show via livestream.

In a statement, police told 9news.com.au officers assisted "a large crowd in leaving Circular Quay".

"Larger than expected attendees resulted in pedestrian traffic congestion, particularly in and around the transport hubs; however, the crowds dispersed after a short period and there were no injuries or incidents reported."
