A man has been charged with murder following the alleged stabbing of his long-term partner in Melbourne's south-east earlier this week.

Sven Lindemann, 51, was today charged with murder and recklessly causing injury after Monique Lezsak was found dead with stab wounds in Endeavour Hills on May 30.

It's understood Lezsak's 10-year-old daughter, a twin, was also injured when she stepped in and tried to help her mother.

Her daughter's injuries have been described as "serious" by Victoria Police.

Lindemann also sustained injuries to his upper body and remains under police guard at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne.

He faced court this afternoon via a video link .

He will remain in custody until his next court appearance in October.

Forty-five bags containing human remains with characteristics matching seven missing call centre staff have been discovered in a ravine in a suburb of Guadalajara, Mexico, according to the state prosecutor's office in Jalisco.

The Jalisco State Prosecutor's Office investigating the deaths said it has preliminary information that the body parts "match the physical characteristics of some of the young people missing employees of the call centre".

Seven call centre employees were reported missing between May 20 and 22 in the metropolitan area of ​​Guadalajara, in western Mexico.
