BNZ wants to terminate its 40-year banking relationship with the West Coast community.

Year one and two students were inside a classroom when a bullet smashed its window at a school in Sydney's south-west on Tuesday afternoon.

Investigators have confirmed the incident at Macquarie Fields Public School just after 12:45pm was not a targeted attack on the school, and that no students or teachers were injured.

Detective Superintendent Grant Healey labelled it a "totally reckless act".

"For the little kids at the time, they just heard a smashed window," Healey said.

"It is a totally reckless act by someone who is acting in a way with a firearm that is very dangerous for the community."

He said the bullet didn't hit the classroom window with much force.

"Early investigations revealed the projectile might have come from some distance away," Healey said.

"The bullet has come into the classroom but it has been stopped by the blind so it hasn't come into the classroom with enough speed or velocity, it is just enough to smash the window."

Initially the police were called after a reports that a "classroom window had been broken by a metal projectile".

"Investigations have revealed that the object is a small calibre bullet, which has been seized and will be forensically examined by specialist police," NSW Police said in a statement.

Officers are asking anyone with information to come forward as the ballistic's team continues to investigate.

A parent at the school told 9News it was "a scary incident", as his daughter's room was close to where the bullet was found. 

"I will be giving them extra hugs and kisses tonight," the parent said.

9News understands families were sent a letter just after 4pm saying children had been removed from the classroom.

The letter did not tell parents and caregivers it was a bullet that was shot through the window.

A tiny farming town in regional Victoria has uncovered a type of garlic so potent that scientists have been able to use it to stop COVID-19 in its tracks.

"We have finally worked out that not all garlic is equal," Nick Diamantopoulos from Garlic Australia told 9News.

There are about 340 types of garlic in the world.

The Doherty Institute is assisting growers to prove the garlic supplement they are developing has anti-viral properties.

"We said 'Let's test whether or not it can kill the virus', so we did lots of tests on lots of different products and we found one of their products was really quite active," Dr Julie McAuley from the Doherty Institute told 9News.

"Once we sort of looked down the microscope and said, 'Hey this one out of the 20I've just tried actually works', it was like wahoo! A real buzz moment for us."

A 20-year-old man has been arrested in India after a teenage girl was allegedly murdered in a brutal stabbing attack on a crowded Delhi street.

CCTV footage appears to show the man repeatedly stabbing the 16-year-old as she cowers against a wall, while people walk past or stop to watch.

At one point, an onlooker appears to attempt to grab the blade from the attacker but is unsuccessful and walks away.

The girl collapses to the ground and he kicks her crumpled body, before fetching a large rock and repeatedly bludgeoning her with it.

The girl was going to attend the birthday party of a friend's son when she was attacked, according to local police.

The footage published on social media has been viewed millions of times and sparked an outcry from human rights groups across India.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal described the killing as "very sad and unfortunate" in a tweet, saying "there is no fear of the police".

Indian police say the teen was in a romantic relationship with the accused and the pair quarrelled hours before the alleged murder on Sunday.

The accused, named as 20-year-old Sahil, was arrested in Aterna village in Bulandshahr on Monday.
