Premier Daniel Andrews has reportedly been grilled in secret by anti-corruption investigators – for a second time.

Andrews was quizzed over his association with property developer John Woodman, who is currently under investigation for alleged corrupt land deals, The Australian has reported.

It's the second time that Andrews was questions by the Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission (IBAC).

Last week, it was revealed Andrews was first questioned by IBAC over issues including branch stacking and misuse of public resources.

Andrews refused to answer questions about the report.

"I'm not making any comment on those matters unless and until a final report is handed down," he said.

"I'm not making any comments on these matters, and you can construct as many questions in as many ways as you see fit.

"That's fine, that's your job."

A state government spokesperson said they would not be commenting on "an active IBAC investigation".

Principals from the best-performing schools across New South Wales have assembled at state parliament today to discuss the key issues impacting teachers.

The group of 10 principals known as the Principal Advisory Group called on the premier and education minister in person to address the critical teacher shortage and pay conditions.

It comes just two days after the second statewide teacher strike in five months over poor pay and heavy workloads.

The strikes have sparked this advisory group to raise the demands of teaching staff directly to the state's top political leaders.

"One of the things I shared was the staffing challenge, which I think all of the schools in the state are going through at the moment," the principal at Fairfield High Dr Kathleen Seto told 9News.

"Some of the discussions we had today were absolutely vibrant and robust," principal at Charlestown South Public School Colin Johnston said.

"We discussed the way we attract young teachers to government schools."

Principals also raised the lack of specialist teachers.

The government has pledged to work with universities on tweaking student-teacher requirements while also promising to address pay discrepancies.

"Wages is obviously a very important part of that but education like many other professions is incredibly vocational," Premier Dominic Perrottet said.

Education Minister Sarah Mitchell said teaching needs to be made attractive again for young people.

"We've gotta talk about what's fantastic about teaching, we've gotta make it a career young people aspire to," she said.

A song written by a Sydney mum will be the official anthem for the upcoming Royal Platinum Jubilee celebrating the reign of Queen Elizabeth II.

Lucy Kiely from Haberfield beat hundreds of entries in the international competition, Song for the Commonwealth, for her lyrics to be sung by choirs around the world during the official event.

Kiely, 30, saw the competition advertised online and told 9News it seemed like an "intriguing and unique opportunity".

Little did she know she would be the winner of the competition.

"It is still surprising to even think about," Kiely said.

"It's something you never imagine being chosen as the winner for."

Kiely's inspiration for the song was hope after the past trying two years of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"My inspiration was to write a song that gave hope to people, everyone has had a troubling few years, I wanted something that gave hope and a message of positivity," she said.

"The opening verse conjures images of a ship on troubled seas and having a guiding lighthouse that brings the ship safely back to shore.

"People can interpret that in any way they choose, that could be a person or a sense of direction or purpose."

Her lyrics 'A Life Lived With Grace' will be performed by choirs and community singers across the UK and the Commonwealth countries as beacons are lit on June 2.

"It's a moment to bring people together all across the world," Kiely said.

Kiely has been invited to attend the celebrations in London.

"It'll be a very proud moment," she said.

Two Queensland men have been charged with attempted murder after allegedly firing several shots into a vehicle in Brisbane.

The men are alleged to have fired up to six rounds from their car at two passengers inside another vehicle in the suburb of Zillmere.

Nobody was injured in the shooting, which happened around 5pm, on December 28 last year.

Detectives from North Brisbane located one of the men in a Deagon home, arresting the 31-year-old.

A second man was located by police outside a Sandgate cafe.

Police said officers located drugs during the 45-year-old's arrest.

Both men have been hit with several charges including attempted murder and possessing firearms and drug utensils.

The men appeared in Brisbane Magistrates court today.
