Police are appealing to two teenagers to come forward, after allegedly forcing two young boys into their car in central Queensland on Saturday night.

It's alleged the pair, a 19-year-old man and 18-year-old woman from Mackay, pulled up to two teenage boys walking along Coles Hill Road, telling them to get in their vehicle around 7.30pm.

It's alleged the 13-year-old boy, who is known to the pair, had previously spoken on the phone to the 19-year-old male, agreeing to meet up.

The boy got in the car willingly, but the 14-year-old, who did not know them, protested.

"The 19-year-old male then produced a knife and demanded he get in the vehicle," Detective Inspector Tom Armitt from Mackay Police said.

"This was not a random abduction event."

It is believed the pair drove around for a number of hours before parking the car at Slade Point.

It's here the 14-year-old ran from the vehicle to a nearby business, where he called police.

The 13-year-old boy stayed with the two teenagers, who are being accused of alleged deprivation of liberty.

Police intercepted the blue sedan in the early hours of the morning, employing tire deflation devices to stop the vehicle.

Two teenage occupants of the sedan were taken into custody, but it was later found these were not the same two teens who had allegedly taken the 14-year-old.

The 13-year-old-boy was found within the vehicle and returned to his parents.

Inspector Armitt said the pair were known to police.

"We are trying to track down their location," he said.

"While shaken up the 14-year-old boy appears in good spirits."

Human remains found in Victoria's High Country in November last year are those of campers Russell Hill and Carol Clay.

Victoria Police today confirmed forensic testing on the human remains found near Dargo had been completed.

"The Coroner has advised Victoria Police that the remains are that of Russell Hill and Carol Clay," a police statement read.

"As the matter is before the court, we will not be providing any further comment."

Mr Hill, 74, and Ms Clay, 73, disappeared while camping in the Wonnangatta Valley on March 20, 2020.

Police uncovered human remains while searching for the pair in bushland north of Dargo, nearly 400kms east of Melbourne.

Locals helped bring a large excavator and a bobcat to the remote search site.

The area where the human remains were found is an old gold-mining area known as the Grant Historic Area.

Pilot Greg Lynn has been charged with two counts of murder over the pair's death.
