An historic mansion without a kitchen or bathroom has hit the market with an asking price of close to $8 million today.
The house at 18 Yarra Grove in Melbourne's inner east suburb of Hawthorn was built in the 1880s, making it one of the first in the area, but it has sat empty and in a state of disrepair for three decades.
The official price guide quotes a range of $7,000,000 to $7,700,000.

Agent Antony Woodley told 9News the history and almost 2000 square metres of river-front land commands the price tag, and that anyone looking to buy should be aware – the house cannot be knocked down.
"It gives you that magnificent Victorian façade," Mr Woodley said.
"People will work with that and the accommodation the home provides and then look to create some contemporary accommodation moving forward."

The house is listed with four bedrooms and car parking for four, but no plumbing, gas or electricity are connected.
"Currently presented in unrenovated condition throughout a superbly-proportioned interior," according to the listing, which notes any plans to extend or renovate are subject to council approval.
Expressions of interest close on October 26.
The listing comes as new property data for Melbourne show a new record high $962,250 median price, following a 15 per cent gain in the last 12 months.
