Airways will review the incident which CEO suggests was a system issue.

A Melbourne suburb has been rocked by another aggravated burglary less than 24 hours after a father was slashed with a machete 11 times at a home just minutes away during a home invasion.

Police are investigating after two cars were allegedly stolen from a home in Kew early today while a family, including children, slept inside.

The unknown offenders tried to break into a home on Brazier Grove shortly after 3am but were unsuccessful, police said.

It is alleged the offenders then entered a residence on the same street and stole car keys and two cars: a red Mazda sedan and a gold Toyota Camry just before 3.30am.

CCTV footage captured two people dressed in hooded jumpers attempting to break into the first home, before giving up and walking away.

The family inside were sleeping at the time of the burglary.

"We're actually pretty lucky that no one woke up and confronted the intruders," the homeowner told 9News.

"We're just lucky that the kids are OK and everyone's safe."

No arrests have been made and police have urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 00.

In a separate incident, a Melbourne father was allegedly stabbed 11 times with a machete during a violent robbery at a home around 4km away in Kew East early yesterday morning.

The 39-year-old man was attempting to fight against a gang who broke into his home on Oxford Street about 4am.

Allegedly armed with a knife and machete, the offenders used garden shears from the shed to smash a window.

Police claim the man's wife was forced into a separate room with their two sleeping toddlers as the group sped off in the couple's car.

The injured man was left with a fractured arm, cuts to his face and will need to undergo eye surgery.

His parents, aged 69 and 70, were allegedly also cut and bruised as they tried to help.

Police allege the group stole the family's BMW before dumping it across town in Deer Park.

Two teenage boys, aged 16 and 17, along with a 24-year-old man have all been charged with multiple offences in relation to the incident, including false imprisonment, aggravated home invasion and intentionally cause serious injury.

Two males who are believed to have been involved in the incident remain on the run.

The 24-year-old Caroline Springs man was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court in November.

The 17-year-old from the Frankston area and the 16-year-old also from the Caroline Springs area were both remanded to appear at a children's court at a later date.

"What happened in in Kew is awful and our thoughts are with the family that has affected by that terrible incident," said Victoria's Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Gabrielle Williams.

"There is no place for that type of behaviour in our state, no place at all."

Victoria Police's Leanne Trusler said she has never seen anything like this incident before.

"There's nothing to indicate it being premeditated, they've just chosen this house and destroyed a family," she said.

A neo-Nazi accused of intimidating a police officer online has described the charges laid against him as false shortly after his bail was extended.

Thomas Sewell, 31, appeared in Melbourne Magistrates Court, charged with intimidating a police officer and multiple personal safety intervention order breaches following police raids targeting the National Socialist Network in November.

Sewell, who represented himself, was accompanied by six people, dressed in black with the group's insignia displayed on their shoulders.

Despite being listed as a three-day contested hearing today, the case was adjourned after prosecutor Louis Andrews flagged issues with a key witness.

Andrews requested the case be adjourned for at least four weeks after an issue arose with the witness over the weekend.

Sewell expressed concern about the delay, telling Magistrate Michelle Hodgson that he wished to speed up this process.

The stop-start hearing lasted several hours, as Sewell pushed to press ahead.

Hodgson ruled in favour of an adjournment, stating that the witness was key to the prosecution's case, but set a "very short return date" of two weeks.

Sewell previously waived his rights of seeking further legal advice and successfully fast-tracked his case, which is now scheduled for September 1.

Details of the alleged offending were not read in court.

His bail was extended with conditions.

Speaking outside court, Sewell revealed a warrant is out for his arrest following an alleged assault at a march he attended on August 9.

AFL star Jamarra Ugle-Hagan has been caught up in a non-fatal shooting outside a notorious Melbourne nightclub.

The troubled Western Bulldogs forward was outside Love Machine on Chapel Street with a friend when the incident took place in the early hours of yesterday morning.

9News Chief Football Reporter Tom Morris revealed Ugle-Hagan's friend became involved in a verbal altercation with another group before a fight broke out and a gun was fired about 2.25am.

It is believed Ugle-Hagan, who has not played any football this year due to mental health concerns, wasn't physically involved in the scuffle and that he walked back into the venue following the shooting incident.

Victoria Police told 9News police are now investigating whether Ugle-Hagan had any involvement in the incident.

No arrests have been made in connection to the shooting.

The AFL and the Western Bulldogs declined to comment, telling 9News the latest incident is a police matter. 

It follows a separate incident last month after a car belonging to Ugle-Hagan was involved in a violent crime spree in Melbourne's south-east.

9News revealed the white Jeep Cherokee was driven to several service stations, where a group of masked thieves allegedly carried out armed robberies.

It's alleged the group first targeted a milk bar in Keysborough about 7.30pm, before travelling to a service station on Warrigal Road in Cheltenham about an hour later.

The Western Bulldogs said the club was aware of the incidents and were satisfied Ugle-Hagan was not involved.

9News also exclusively revealed the same vehicle had been involved in a drive-by shooting in June.

Three shots were fired at 71-year-old Doug Lee at his Glen Iris home.

Ugle-Hagan was questioned by police and has been cleared of any wrongdoing.

In a podcast, the 23-year-old said he'd given his car to a mate because he didn't trust himself driving.

Donald Trump has claimed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy can end Russia's illegal invasion of his country "almost immediately" ahead of the leaders' high-stakes White House meeting tonight.

In a post on Truth Social this morning, the US president appeared to put the onus for reaching a ceasefire or peace deal on Zelenskyy rather than Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

"President Zelenskyy of Ukraine can end the war with Russia almost immediately, if he wants to, or he can continue to fight," Trump said.

"Remember how it started."

The unprovoked war was launched by Russia more than three years ago, and has since gone on to claim hundreds of thousands of lives.

A study in June found Moscow's forces were closing in on 1 million military casualties – including about 250,000 deaths – while the figure for Ukraine was sitting at almost 400,000, with 60,000-100,000 deaths.

Tens of thousands of Ukrainian civilians have also been injured and killed in the conflict.

In his post, Trump suggested Zelenskyy would have to cede the Crimean peninsula – which is part of Ukraine's internationally recognised borders but has been controlled by Russia since it was seized in 2014 – as part of any peace deal.

He also ruled out NATO membership for Ukraine, something Zelenskyy has long sought.

"No getting back Obama given Crimea (12 years ago, without a shot being fired!), and NO GOING INTO NATO BY UKRAINE," Trump wrote.

"Some things never change!!!"

The post comes just two days after the much-anticipated meeting between Trump and Putin that ended without a ceasefire plan, and with the Russian dictator having appeared to give up very little – if anything at all – in return for his red-carpet treatment on US soil.

Trump has repeatedly defended the summit, while special envoy Steve Witkoff said Putin did make a crucial concession during the talks.

"We were able to win the following concession: that the United States could offer Article 5-like protection, which is one of the real reasons why Ukraine wants to be in NATO," he told CNN, adding it was "game-changing".

It's "the first time we had ever heard the Russians agree to that", Witkoff said.

Trump's comments also come as Zelenskyy prepares for his second White House meeting with Trump, to be held overnight (Australian time).

However, unlike his first trip to Washington this year, when he was infamously and very publicly ambushed by Trump and Vice President JD Vance in the Oval Office, he'll be joined by an ensemble of prominent European leaders.

British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, as well as their counterparts from Italy, Finland, NATO and the European Union, will all accompany Zelenskyy.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, meanwhile, once again indicated an openness to sending troops to be part of any potential United Nations peacekeeping force in the future, saying he would consider any request.

However, he said there was a long way to go before those discussions could take place. 

"We know that Mr Putin has designs on not just Ukraine," Albanese told Sky News.

"The concern is certainly there, and there is certainly a lack of trust between Mr Putin and European and other leaders of democracies.

"We stand with Ukraine, we want to see peace in the region. Ukraine must, of course, not have a solution imposed on it. They need to be a part of those negotiations."
