The family of a beloved Adelaide grandmother who was stabbed to death by her husband has been left unable to "forgive the evil act that took place".

Maria Dimasi, known affectionately as Nonna Maria, was found stabbed 76 times in December 2023.

Her husband, Francesco Dimasi, will never stand trial for murder because of his severe dementia, despite the judge agreeing he caused her death beyond a reasonable doubt.

A judge ruled her 93-year-old husband was mentally competent when he stabbed his wife of 67 years to death inside their home at Findon in the city's western suburbs, and that the attack was not the result of dementia, which he was later diagnosed with.

"I guess that reinforced what we thought had happened," Maria's son Vince Dimasi told 9News.

He said the family "can't forgive the evil act that took place".

Maria's daughter Carmel Ieraci said the family feels "some sort of peace in knowing that the truth has prevailed".

"Our lives will never be the same and neither will the state and all who knew Maria Dimasi," she said.

"She was incredible, absolutely incredible, she just had a heart of gold."

While the family did not want to speak specifically about their case, they said there needs to be more awareness around domestic violence because of the prevalence in which it's being perpetrated.

The case will return for one final hearing in April.

A brazen robbery that unfolded at an Adelaide banh mi shop, leaving staff shaken, has been captured on CCTV.

The incident occurred at around 6am when a masked bandit, dressed in fluorescent orange, stormed the Nhu Lan restaurant, brandishing what appeared to be a gun.

"I saw him. He got the gun. He tell me 'open the counter,'" employee Xuyen Le said.

"The person may have been armed with a firearm," Police Commissioner Grant Stevens said. 

"And until we have information that discounts that, we treat it like the person may be carrying a firearm."

Locals say the jet-ski hooning at Brighton Le Sands is so bad they've started to avoid the beach on the weekend.

Bayside Council deputy mayor Heidi Lee Douglas said dangerous encounters like that are becoming all too frequent.

"The amount of dangerous activity has been increasing every summer at Botany Bay,"  Douglas said.

"I get sent footage from constituents of life-threatening incidents… we've seen kids as young as 10 illegally driving jet-skis in erratic ways."

"We don't want to wait for fatality for the state government to protect swimmers."

The deputy mayor is calling for action to make sections of Lady Robinsons Beach and parts of Brighton Le Sands Beach into no-go zones for jet-skis.

But the boating industry said a ban on jet-skis would be unfair to those who do the right thing, and called on NSW Maritime to step up its response to people doing the wrong thing."

"We don't support that action of exclusion zones or bans," Neil Patchett from the Boating Industry Association said.

"We would be called on the maritime from transport and the water police to step up their compliance for those choosing to do the wrong thing."

Transport for NSW told 9News that there's already a jet-ski exclusion zone in place at Lady Robinson Beach.

"Lady Robinson Beach and Botany Bay are heavily patrolled by TfNSW Maritime, the Marine Area Command and local police," a spokesperson said.

"Maritime has not been approached regarding extending or increasing these exclusion zones and currently has no plans to do so.

"Maritime works very closely with Bayside Council on education with personal watercraft operators to 'do the right thing.'"

The current jet-ski-free zone includes two netted-off swimming areas marked by yellow buoys.

NSW Maritime has already put jet-ski exclusion zones in place on the Central Coast, including a 300-metre no-go zone at Ettalong Beach.

A man has recalled the moment he and his housemates were dragged out of bed and bound at their hands and feet by masked attackers who broke into their home in Sydney's north-west overnight.

Jin Yang was asleep inside his home on Tomah Street in Carlingford when three masked men armed with guns broke into his home at 11pm.

He and his three housemates were dragged from their beds before their hands were tied behind their backs and their feet bound together.

Jin Yang told 9News the offenders took them to different parts of the house, holding a gun to their heads while yelling "where is the money?".

"They put (my) hand (at) my back and then (said) don't move… they had a gun," Yang said.

The ruckus alerted neighbour Eddy Pun to the break-in and he called police. 

"He yelled out and said call the police… he was running around and holding something," Pun said.

"It's very scary (that it happened) in this area because I suppose it's quite a safe area." 

One of the residents managed to free themselves and confronted the intruders, causing them to flee.

The trio took off with a passport and mobile phones but not the cash they were looking for.

Residents told 9News they don't know why their home was targeted.

Police are now investigating potential links between the parties and are continuing to search for the attackers.
