Woman stable after crashing 70m down cliff

A woman has been airlifted to a Brisbane hospital after she fell about 70 metres down a cliff following a car accident north west of the Gold Coast this morning.

The woman is understood to have been driving on Tamborine Oxenford Road at Wongawallan about 7.30am before the car rolled.

Communication was established with the woman just before 10am after emergency services spent hours trying to locate her.

The Rescue 500 helicopter with a critical care paramedic are currently on scene, with the paramedic being winched down 70m to assess the woman. 9News understands the woman was driving a car along Tamborine Oxenford Rd at Wongawallan around 7:30am before the vehicle rolled.

The woman has reportedly sustained an arm injury but appears to be in a stable condition. She has been transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
