Man dies at a rock climbing gym in Sydney's inner west

A man has died at an indoor rock climbing gym in Sydney's inner west.

Emergency services were called to the gym in St Peters at around 11.40am today after reports of a man being unconscious.

The man later died at the scene.

An ambulance is seen departing a housing tower on Morehead Street in Redfern. Health authorities are working to contain an emerging COVID-19 cluster across three social housing towers in the inner-city suburb.

He is believed to have fallen 10 metres, however the exact cause of death remains unknown.

Police have launched an investigation and a report will be prepared for a coroner.
