Tonga has experienced a 6.1 magnitude earthquake.

The nation was hit by a major quake back in January, caused by the underwater volcanic eruption of Hunga Tonga-Hunga Haa'pai.

The blast sent tsunami waves crashing across the shore and cut off communication for weeks.

At least six people died during the disaster, dozens more were injured and millions of dollars worth of damage was reported. The recovery is ongoing.
