Man charged with murder after teen found dead in Darwin driveway

A 20-year-old man has been charged with murder after a teenager was found dead in a Darwin driveway.

Neighbours found the 18-year-old's body in the driveway of a vacant Palmerston property early Saturday morning.

Police said he was found bleeding from the head and is believed to have died between midnight and when he was found.

"An initial examination of the deceased identified head trauma and the death was treated as suspicious," Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Paul Morrissey said.

A neighbour told 9News they heard a commotion on Friday night before the 18-year-old's body was found.

"I woke up to the area taped off and someone unresponsive across the road," Hamish Burslem said.

The 20-year-old man will face Darwin Local Court today.

Police said an investigation into the death is continuing.
