Man charged with woman's murder over alleged DV incident in Sydney

A man has been charged with murder after his girlfriend's body was found at a home in Sydney's west overnight in what is believed to be a case of domestic violence.

Emergency services went to a home on Brighton Street in Greystanes after authorities were alerted to the incident at about 12.50am.

Officers found the woman's body inside the home.

She has not been formally identified but is believed to be in her 30s. She is allegedly the 11th woman to have been killed by domestic violence in Australia this year.

The 28-year-old, who police say was known to the woman, was arrested at the property and taken to Granville Police Station.

On Saturday afternoon, he was charged with murder (DV) after police established a strike force to investigate the woman's death.

The man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday.
