The family of Father Bob Maguire have accepted the offer of a state funeral to honour the beloved social justice campaigner and Catholic priest.
9News understands the service will be held at St Patrick's Cathedral in Melbourne.
Father Bob died aged 88 at Cabrini Hospital in south-east Melbourne on April 19.

Premier Daniel Andrews confirmed the news this afternoon, saying the state funeral would
"Victorians will be invited to celebrate the life of Father Bob Maguire at a State Funeral, honouring the people's priest's generosity, kindness, humour and service to the state," Premier Daniel Andrews said.
Known as the "people's priest", Father Bob dedicated his life to charity and helping poor and marginalised members of society in Melbourne.
Father Bob became a Member of the Order of Australia in 1989 for his service to homeless youth. In 2011 he was Victorian of the Year.
He founded the Father Bob Maguire Foundation in 2003, which has a mission to "provide material, emotional and social support to whomever, whenever and wherever necessary".
The foundation also aims to end homelessness and disadvantage through creating a caring community.
Although there has been no date set, the state funeral will be a celebration of Father Bob's life and legacy.
