Man shot by police responding to reports of domestic incident

A man has been shot multiple times by police at a home in Bray Park, north of Brisbane.

Police were called to the residence in Burkwell Court around 12.30pm after reports of a domestic incident between a man and a woman.

The 45 year-old-man was allegedly shot by police and was later taken to hospital with gunshot wounds.

Detective Inspector Ben Fadian said there were residents home at the address at the time of the shooting.

He confirmed the man who was shot lived within Burkwell Court.

"The circumstances of today's incident may form part of a further investigation down the track in terms of that person's behaviour and activities," Fadian said.

Neighbour Lyn said she heard three distinct shots about 12.42pm.

"I heard it, three very quick gunshots – bang, bang, bang," she said.

The Ethical Standards Command will investigate with oversight from the Crime and Corruption Commission.
