A murder investigation has been launched after a man was found dead with head and upper body injuries in a home near Gold Coast.

Police found a man's body in a home on Tolima Drive in Mount Tamborine after reports he was unconscious about 12.15pm yesterday.

"Upon arrival, a 37-year-old Tamborine Mountain man was located deceased inside the house," Queensland Police said in a statement.

"He had sustained fatal head and upper body injuries."

Scientific and forensic officers are examining the scene.

Detectives are appealing to anyone with relevant information, CCTV or dashcam vision in the vicinity of Tolima Drive to come forward.
