Sydney store owner says power bills doubled in a year

A Sydney store owner has aired his shock after his electricity bill more than doubled in a year.

Hazem Sedda, whose family-owned Redfern Convenience Store enjoys a popular following online, said comparing bills from August 2022 and August 2023 showed a "significant surge".

"During the same period last year, in August 2022, the electricity bill for the convenience store amounted to a reasonable $4306.39," he said on Instagram.
