Where and when you can watch the Matildas' World Cup quarter-final

All eyes in Australia will be on the Matildas when they take on France in their 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup quarter-final.

A win in the do-or-die match will see Tony Gustavsson's side surge into their first-ever World Cup semi-final, while a loss will end their hopes of lifting the trophy on home soil.

Matildas message of support

When is the Matildas vs France Women's World Cup quarter-final?

The Matildas' quarter-final against France will kick-off at 5pm on Saturday, August 12 (AEST).

That means a start time of 4:30pm in South Australia and the Northern Territory, and 3pm in Western Australia.

The match should finish at around 7pm (AEST), unless it is drawn at full-time and extra time or penalties are required to decide a winner, in which case it will run until around 7:30pm.

Where is it being played?

The match will be played at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium.

Where can you watch it?

There are a range of live sites where fans can gather to watch the match with hundreds of other supporters on the big screen, including the official FIFA Fan Festivals in each of the tournament's Australian host cities.

In Sydney, the Fan Festival is at Tumbalong Park, while Melbourne's is at Federation Square, Brisbane's is at South Bank, Adelaide's at Festival Plaza and Perth's is held at Forrest Place.

Elsewhere, local councils will hold live sites of their own, while the AFL has ticked off on showing the match on big screens at the MCG before the clash at the ground between Carlton and Melbourne so fans with tickets to the latter can still watch the quarter-final.
