A heavily pregnant woman has been found dead at a home in Perth's north-east overnight, with authorities investigating the death as a possible murder.

The 36-year-old woman was eight months pregnant.

Her body was located by police at a home at Mataro Drive, near Garrido Way, in Dayton at 6pm yesterday.

Few details have been released at this time and so far, no arrests have been made public.

Police have said they are treating the incident as suspicious until proven otherwise.

The Homicide Squad as well as forensic investigators have been working at the scene today, with a section of the street closed off to the public.

Police have issued a plea for anyone with information relating to the incident to come forward, or to contact Crime Stoppers.

The number of COVID-19 cases connected to the Melbourne CFMEU headquarters, which were exposed to the virus during the construction protests last month, has risen to seven.

The increase has been announced on the day construction resumed after a two-week hiatus, following a shutdown of the industry spurred on by the protests.

It also comes as the state has recorded the highest ever daily COVID-19 tally of cases in the country, with 1763 cases in the past 24 hours.

The CFMEU has revealed seven people have now tested positive to COVID-19, with the three new cases linked to the four cases that stemmed from the Melbourne head office being exposed to the virus at the protests.

The union's release says the outbreak has affected "innocent family members including, elderly parents, wives, brothers, and sisters as well as dozens of young children including two babies".

"The tragedy is that due to the actions of these reckless and selfish protesters, many of these members families who have been infected are very sick with the delta virus," CFMEU Victoria and Tasmania Secretary John Setka said.

"These protesters are just selfish idiots with absolutely no care for anyone other than themselves.

"They have caused enormous stress and heartache for members families who were just doing their job on the day of the protest."

Mr Setka said the union welcomed the construction union reopening at 25 per cent capacity today, but noted it occurred while the infected members would be forced to quarantine and be stressed by sick relatives.

The CFMEU's Melbourne headquarters was declared a Tier One coronavirus exposure site on September 29 after demonstrators protested outside the office the week earlier.

At the time, four staff members were revealed as having caught COVID-19 since the protest.
