Man charged after horror boat crash claims two women's lives
A West Australian man has been charged over a boat crash that killed his wife and the mother of an AFL player.
John Burdon, 47, was charged with two counts of manslaughter and will face court later today.
Four people were on board a boat on the WA southwest coast on January 21 when it crashed into a navigation marker in the Mandurah Estuary.

Burdon's wife Debbie, 54, and 52-year-old Kylie Bazzo – the mother of West Coast Eagles defender Rhett Bazzo – were killed in the crash.
Burdon suffered back injuries in the crash while the other occupant, Mick Young, was unharmed.
Rescuers searched the estuary for more than 20 hours for the crash victims before their bodies were found.
Locals also assisted in the search efforts on boats, canoes and on foot along the shoreline.

Green comet should finally be visible in Australian skies this week
Tonight and over the coming days, a celestial visitor from the Stone Age will finally be visible in Australian skies.
The comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF), dubbed "the green comet", is making its closest approach to our planet in 50,000 years, having last done so when Neanderthals and homo sapiens co-existed.
It's been visible in the Northern Hemisphere for some time – but if you're looking to catch a glimpse of it in Australia, here's what you need to know.

When will the green comet be visible in Australia?
According to NASA, the comet should be able to be seen in the Southern Hemisphere now.
It was closest to Earth on February 2, but had only just begun to peek above the horizon.
The best time to see this once-in-a-civilisation visitor is over the next several nights between 10pm and midnight, by looking into the sky due north, astrophysicist Dr Sarah Webb told The Guardian.
By February 11, it will be close to Mars and have become quite dim as it gets further away from Earth.
How can we see it?
It is visible at night to the naked eye although may appear small and fuzzy.
It's also visible in the morning skies, but you'll need binoculars or a telescope.

Comets are fairly unpredictable in terms of when and where they will appear, so keep your eye peeled for the distinctive green glow, caused by the sun turning the celestial body's icy shell to gas.
Light pollution and air pollution can also obscure the comet from view.
Will the comet return?
The comet's orbit takes 50,000 years to complete, so we're not going to see it again in our lifetimes.
Some scientists have also suggested this could be the last time it passes Earth, with a quirk in its path suggesting it could be en route to deep space.

For graffiti cleaner Jim Frid, it's been non-stop over the past months.
"We do it, eight hours of my life, every day," he told 9News.
"I would say we have seen a good 25 per cent rise in calls and enquiries and business itself."
The Melbourne man said it's a disgrace.
"As a business, it's even worse than a war because wars have an end but graffiti is never gonna end," he said.

However, one vandal was caught by 9News tagging said "he couldn't care less".
"It's just enjoyable and a bit of a f— you, like people hate it."
"I mean.. honestly.. f— you, it's not hurting you is it? Is it hurtin' ya?
However, graffiti is now being recorded at higher rates, thanks to Snap Send Solve.
It's an app that helps community members report graffiti, illegal parking, dumped rubbish, trip hazards or abandoned trolleys.
Snap Send Solve chief executive Danny Gorog said that the app received up to 100 reports of graffiti a day across Victoria.
That is up 60, from this time last year.
In Brunswick, one business has paid to clean graffiti off its wall twice in 24 hours.

Police alleged the 44-year-old had stabbed her 43-year-old partner in the chest then allegedly set fire to items inside the house, including books and clothes.
Detective Superintendent Andrew Massingham said police allege Daidone-Zumbo plunged a 20cm serrated kitchen knife into Zumbo's as he was having a cup of coffee on the balcony.
The stab wound just missed his heart, he said.
The 43-year-old was taken to hospital in a critical condition and has since undergone surgery.
Massingham said it was "extremely lucky" the jogger was passing the house and that neighbours also heard screams and called triple-zero.
Daidone-Zumbo was arrested at the property and also taken to hospital but in a stable condition.
She was charged today with two domestic violence-related offences, attempted murder and endangering property by fire.
She is expected to appear at Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow.
