Dog spends terrifying night trapped on table in flooded Victorian home
A dog has spent a terrifying 24 hours trapped on top of a table in a flooded home in Victoria but luckily escaped unharmed.
Missy was stuck on a table in a Maribyrnong home after floodwaters quickly inundated the town with little warning for residents.
Her owner Ulfet said they left Missy behind at 6am yesterday thinking they would have time to go back and get her but they became stranded a couple of streets away.

"She's been here overnight so we've come back and grabbed her this morning. Luckily she's fine. She found a high place to rest and was safe," Ulfet said.
Ulfet said the water would have been lapping at Missy's feet while she sheltered on the table.
He said that while the house is severely flood damaged, he's glad Missy is okay.
"It's a lot of damage. More than what we were expecting," he said.
"The previous time it flooded here was pretty much ankle height in comparison to what we're looking at now.
"Just the sediment and all the dirt that's left behind is kind of overwhelming.
