A 33-year-old man will face court following an alleged dine-and-dash incident in Adelaide last night.

The incident unfolded at 9.30pm, when a man dining at a restaurant on Gouger Street tried to leave without paying for his meal.

Video filmed by a witness outside the Concubine restaurant showed staff restraining the man.

The man was able to flee the area following a scuffle but staff and witnesses provided a detailed description of the man to police.

Police tracked the man via CCTV and finding him a short time later on Moonta Street.

The owner of the restaurant said some staff were injured during the scuffle.

"We regret having the incident happen," the owner said in a statement.

"It was a spur of the moment decision to try and restrain him for the police as we were immensely upset that someone came in and racked up a huge bill and tried to run off."

A man from Salisbury was reported for theft and he will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

Police have seized a container with 1000 kilograms of cocaine disguised as potatoes and frozen chips in the northern Caribbean shores of Colombia, South America.

More than 50 people, as well as sniffer dogs, worked to uncover the drugs before they were shipped from the Port of Cartagena to Spain.

Anti-Narcotics Police Major General Ricardo Augusto Alarcón Campos said police received a tip from an anonymous caller regarding the shipment.

"This may be the most innovative case discovered by drug traffickers in recent years, they had designed the drug in irregular molds simulating croquettes of cassava and papa criolla," Campos said.

"The cooperation and support of the people who manage the maritime terminals in the country has been fundamental, we will continue working together to find those responsible and discover who is behind this shipment."

Colombia's National Police Major said the counterfeit potatoes and frozen chips located were extremely deceiving, but that the packaging had no expiration date which caused some suspicion.

"The review was costly, each bag had to be uncovered and each of the frozen tubers had to be checked, the irregular shapes of the cassava and potatoes once they are peeled and cut into squares aroused some suspicion among the uniformed men," Campos said.
