The missing infant daughter of a man and woman whose bodies were discovered in Texas in 1981 has been found "alive and well" more than four decades later, according to the office of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

The bodies of Florida couple Tina Gail Linn Clouse and Harold Dean Clouse Jr were found in a wooded area in Houston, the office said in a news release. But the couple – "the apparent victims of a homicide" – were not positively identified until 2021 through the work of forensic genealogists with Identifinders International.

For the Linn and Clouse families – who last heard from the couple in 1980 and spent decades searching for answers about the Clouses' whereabouts – one question has been left unanswered: Where was their infant daughter Holly? According to authorities, the girl was not found with the couple's remains.

But after more than 40 years, Holly – now 42 – has been found, per the AG's office.

"I prayed for more than 40 years for answers and the Lord has revealed some of it… we have found Holly," Holly's biological grandmother Donna Casasanta said in the news release.

Holly has been told about her biological parents' identities and has been in contact with her extended family, the AG's office said.

All hope to soon meet in person, it added.

The release from the AG's office did not detail Holly's life for the last 40 years, though family members quoted in the news release said she'd had a good life and was well cared for.

The investigation into her parents' deaths is ongoing, the AG's office said, and anyone with information related to the case is asked to contact its Cold Case and Missing Persons Unit.

Paxton praised the unit in a statement, with the office noting the investigation "demonstrates the importance of working cold case and missing persons investigations."

"I am extremely proud of the exceptional work done by my office's newly formed Cold Case and Missing Persons Unit," Paxton said.

"My office diligently worked across state lines to uncover the mystery surrounding Holly's disappearance."

Eight-year-old Sienna Santiago was left fighting for her life in ICU after living in a house found to have "very high levels of mould".

Her father, former NT police officer Stephen Thomson, lived with his young family on the Tiwi Islands in police housing riddled with mould.

They moved to Pirlangimpi in April 2017 and said for the next two years he repeatedly reported the mould to police management, as did the remote sergeant on the island.

By March 2019 Sienna's life hung in the balance — she spent 11 days in ICU, five weeks at Royal Darwin Hospital and months of rehab, with devastating consequences.

"Those disabilities are possibly going to be life-long," Thompson told 9News over Zoom.

A report conducted after Sienna's hospitalisation found "very high levels of mould" were identified throughout the house, constituting a health hazard.

Entry to the premises is restricted, and those who enter should be wearing PPE.

Police officer turned politician Mark Turner wrote to the attorney-general on behalf of his former constituent.

"The more this unravels, it wasn't just Steven and his family, it went on before as well," the Member for Blain told 9News.

"[Makes me] sick to my stomach and it's more as a father, your job is to protect your children," he said.

In a statement, Worksafe said it was investigating after new information came to light alleging the issue of mould was reported to NT Police before the child was admitted to hospital.

The information also detailed the deterioration of the child's health, including medical opinions confirming the probable link of her illness to mould exposure.

"We've had no compensation from NT Police and as I say, they've never admitted they failed us by ignoring our calls for help," Thompson said.

Nine News contacted Thompson's former employer for comment on Thursday.

"Worksafe is reviewing this matter and it's appropriate we leave Worksafe to complete their enquiries," NT Police said in a statement.

ICAC has also been notified.

US funds manager Blackstone has received another green light in favour of its Crown Resorts licence after it was approved to hold a casino licence in New South Wales.

The US equity giant launched a takeover bid last year and now the NSW and Victorian gambling watchdogs have approved the $8.9 billion deal.

NSW Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority Chairperson Philip Crawford said Blackstone had been subject to an extensive probity assessment that examined its capacity to address the risks and issues of concern identified in the Bergin Report.

"The probity assessment has also resulted in certain persons being approved to become 'close associates' of Crown Sydney," Crawford said.

"As the prospective owner of Crown Resorts, Blackstone has been required to demonstrate the highest standards of probity as well as a commitment to deliver the full suite of operational changes recommended by the Bergin Inquiry.

"This commitment is vital to ensure Crown Sydney is free from criminal influence and properly manages the risks of harm associated with casino activities."

Crawford said they will be allowed to operate under "strict guidelines" for two years to appease concerns around "the culture of these organisations".

The approvals follow a meeting of Crown shareholders on May 20 that voted overwhelmingly to accept Blackstone's takeover offer.

"These approvals and conditions are dependent on Blackstone gaining Federal Court approval for its takeover of Crown," Crawford added.

The Crown Blackstone deal needs final approval from Western Australian gambling authorities.

A young Lego lover, with low vision, can now see clearly thanks to life-changing technology.

Nine-year-old Ethan Pridham is legally blind and lives with a condition called ocular albinism, which causes vision to appear blurry and out of focus.

Ethan has been building Lego for a long time, and today he was gifted new technology to help him see his handiwork.

Flying from Adelaide to Melbourne today, Ethan received his new lens thanks to eSight, Royal Society for the Blind and LEGOLAND Discovery Centre.

Ethan was the lucky recipient of the device, worth more than $10,000 which will help him build Lego.

Ethan's mum Kimberly Signore said the device was life-changing.

"He can't see the diagrams properly," he said.

"Sometimes the pieces are too small and fiddly but it doesn't stop him."

Royal Society for Blind senior occupational therapist Amy Beech said the device was clinically proven to enhance sight through a combination of best-match camera and lens technology to stimulate the brain.

"The device allows Ethan to magnify through a lens and see everything like everyone else can," Beech said.

For many Sydneysiders this long weekend means getting out of town for an extra day's break but rising petrol prices may put a dent in the budget.

Petrol prices notoriously rise over public holidays and long weekends however this year will come with a much higher price tag.

"We know that petrol prices are skyrocketing," Minister for Customer Services Victor Dominello said.

According to NSW Government data, petrol prices can differ by up to 30 cents a litre in the same suburb and stretch of road.

On average this year, around the M7 Costco at Casula has the average price for E10 at $1.67 but down the road at Crossroads BP it's $2.33.

On the M5, Metro at Narwee has an average price of $1.74 but at BP in Milperra it's $1.87.

The Speedway at North Ryde on the M2 has the cheapest E10 at $1.75 but the 7-11 at Northmead is $1.91.

The Speedway at Haberfield on the M4 averages at $1.79 and down the road the Coles Express at Stanmore is $1.90.

Other key roads like the Pacific Highway see similar discrepancies between retailers, with an 11 cent per litre difference between Wahroonga and Waitara.

"Independent retailers consistently have cheaper prices and that's why we are encouraging consumers to jump on that fuel check app and make sure they are getting that up to 25 cent saving," Minister for Fair Trading Eleni Petinos said.

The major price differences have sparked a renewed call from the state government for drivers to download the state's fuel check app.

It has already hit two million downloads as drivers hunt down the cheapest prices.

"You see all the petrol stations in NSW on your phone in real time so you see all the prices so you can make an informed decision," Dominello said.

"It can save you up to $800 a year."

The Queensland government is considering whether to appeal the sentence handed to the Brisbane teen who killed pregnant couple Kate Leadbetter and Matthew Field last year.

The victim's family and politicians from both Labor and the opposition voiced concerns the 18-year-old, who can't be identified for legal reasons, was not delivered a harsh enough sentence.

The teenager, who was 17-years-old at the time of the crash was sentenced to 10 years in prison, out on parole in six years.

The teen was found guilty of driving a stolen vehicle while drunk and on drugs before running a red light, hitting a truck and slamming into the young couple, who were out walking their dogs in Alexandra Hills.

The teenager sped off after the incident while Leadbetter, Field and their unborn child were instantly killed.

The judge said the sentence was delivered due to the teenagers past history with drugs and alcohol, his troubled background and remorse expressed after the incident.

Deputy premier Steven Miles acknowledged there was anger surrounding the teen's sentencing.

"I do (acknowledge) and I understand it," he said.

"I don't want to get in to commentating on the judgment itself.

"The (attorney-general) will get that advice and she'll have something to say about it I'm sure."

The state opposition joined the victims' families in calling for an appeal towards a stiffer sentence.

"To give justice to the family and to act as a deterrent for future young offenders," opposition leader David Crisafulli said.

"There must be consequences for actions."

Labor MP Don Brown also called for an appeal on the court's decision.

"I will be today writing to the AG and Premier asking them to appeal the court's decision.

"Matty, Kate and Miles deserve nothing less than full justice."

Legal guidance on the case is expected to be back next week.

9News has been told the government will only appeal the sentence if the advice from attorneys indicates a reasonable chance of winning the case.

Criminal lawyer Bill Potts said he believes there's a chance the sentence could be increased.

A man has been arrested over an alleged one-punch attack, which left another man in a serious condition, in Sydney's east.

It's alleged the 24-year-old who had been playing the pokies earlier in the night then struck a 23-year-old man outside the Matraville Hotel around 1.30am this morning.

Paramedics were called to the scene and the man was taken to Prince of Wales Hospital with a suspected fractured jaw.

The 23-year-old is now undergoing surgery with fears of permanent brain damage.

Detective Acting Inspector Michael Capon said the alleged attack was "unprovoked" but that the two men had had a disagreement earlier in the night.

"We have information that there was a confrontation earlier in that evening between two males within a licensed premise," he said.

"And then there was a later confrontation out on the street on Bunnerong Road that morning."

Capon said the man appears to have suffered injuries from being punched and then hitting the footpath.

"These one-punch style hits are extremely dangerous to the victims involved," he said.

The 24-year-old was arrested at a home in Maroubra this afternoon.

He was taken to Maroubra Police Station where charges are expected to be laid.

Sensational claims have been made at the murder trial of Chris Dawson, as his identical twin Paul points the finger at his brother's schoolgirl lover.

Paul Dawson gave evidence for a second day from Tweed Heads where he described his brother as the least violent man he's ever met.

A secret phone tap of the twins from 1999 was played to the Supreme Court after Paul had been grilled by detectives over the disappearance of his sister-in-law Lynette.

"He implied that something has happened to Lyn and that you had the motive," Paul said in the phone call.

"They think something has happened to Lyn and I had the motive and they are going to search the property and do sorts of things. Oh well, good luck to them," Chris replied.

"If anyone had the motive, (JC) had more motive," Paul said.

"JC", as she has been identified in court proceedings, was the family's babysitter before she began an affair with Chris Dawson and later became his second wife.

The Crown alleges Chris Dawson killed Lynette so he could have an "unfettered relationship" with his schoolgirl lover.

But Paul doubled down on his stunning accusation under questioning by Crown prosecutor Craig Everson, SC.

"If Lyn had been murdered, JC had the motive, JC had more to gain and JC did gain more than Chris ever gained from their relationship," Paul told the court.

The twin also remembered a conversation with now-dead family friend Elva McBay who told him Lynette had been threatened at a birthday party.

"JC just said if she got in her way… she'd get rid of her," Paul claimed McBay said.

The court also heard a conversation on the phone tap where the twins speak about where Lynette could be.

"Either Lyn's somewhere with a whole new life," Paul said on the recording.

"Yeah," Chris responded.

"Or something happened, I mean," Paul said.

"I know," Chris said.

"She could be anywhere," Paul said.

Paul said he has been keeping a close eye on media reports of his twin's trial and has described allegations of violence by Chris as "most outrageous".

He said in the 17 years his brother and Lynette were together he never even heard a derogatory comment.
