Here's a look at the upbringings of both Scott Morrison and Anthony Albanese.
Scott Morrison
Scott Morrison grew up in the affluent Sydney suburb of Bronte, where his father was a policeman and later, the local mayor.
Mr Morrison's first start in politics was handing out how-to-vote cards for his dad on Waverley Municipal Council.
He appeared in several commercials as a child actor, before attending the selective public school Sydney Boys High.

He undertook a Bachelor of Science with an honours in applied economic geography at the University of New South Wales.
He considered studying theology in Canada, but entered the workforce instead.
After time at the Property Council of Australia, he became general manager of the Tourism Council of Australia.
Mr Morrison spent two years running New Zealand's tourism office, before coming back to Australia to head Tourism Australia.
As managing director of Tourism Australia, he greenlit the controversial "Where the bloody hell are you?" campaign.

He was chosen for the southern Sydney seat of Cook in 2007 in a contentious pre-selection battle, then entered parliament.
He entered government on the frontbench as immigration minister, then social services minister, then treasurer.
Raised Presbyterian, he now attends Horizon, a Pentecostal church in the Sutherland Shire.
He began dating his now-wife Jenny when they were 16, and they married when he was 21 and she was 22.
He has two daughters, Abbey and Lily.
Mr Morrison is famously an avid supporter of the Cronulla Sharks, but is also a fan of rugby union's Eastern Suburbs RUFC.

Anthony Albanese
Anthony Albanese grew up in the Sydney inner-west suburb of Camperdown with his grandparents and mother.
For much of his life he believed his father had died in a car accident. He later learned his father was a steward on a cruise ship his mother had been on, and she fell pregnant after a very short relationship.
Mr Albanese tracked down his still-living father in Italy in 2009, and met two half-siblings he never knew existed.
For much of his childhood his mother got by on a disability pension and she spent time in hospital for her rheumatoid arthritis.
He went to St Joseph's Primary School in Camperdown and then St Mary's Cathedral College in the CBD.
After making his name as part of Young Labor's left faction, he became a research officer for his mentor Tom Uren, a Hawke government frontbencher.
Mr Albanese spent a few years working in the NSW Labor Party before being pre-selected for the Sydney inner-west seat of Grayndler.
In parliament he was an early advocate for LGBTI rights and euthanasia.
After years in opposition, he became minister for infrastructure and transport in 2007, then Deputy Prime Minister in 2013.
He became opposition leader in 2019.
For 19 years he was married to Carmel Tebbutt, who was a prominent Labor frontbencher in NSW Parliament. They separated in 2019.
He has been in a relationship since 2020 with Jodie Haydon, who works for an industry superfund.
The pair met at an event in Melbourne where she was the only person in the audience who supported his beloved South Sydney Rabbitohs.
Mr Albanese lives in the inner-west suburb of Marrickville with his son Nathan, 21, and his dog Toto.
