Flood renovations uncover decades-old time capsule under bathtub
A discovery during a renovation and a post on a local community page has reunited a New South Wales man with a time capsule hidden by his father decades ago.
Chris was ripping up the bathroom floor at the home in Ballina after the recent floods when he came across something under the bathtub.
He uncovered a handwritten note from November 1990, with a list of names of family members, a bit like a family tree.

Chris' wife Jo posted a photo of the letter, and the newspaper accompanying it asking if anyone knew the Harper family who previously owned the house.
Within days, Peter Harper returned to his old home and found the treasure, which he believes his dad buried more than 30 years ago.
"When they said there was a time capsule found, I didn't actually know what was in it," Mr Harper told nine.com.au.
"I can't even remember him putting it in there, it was put under the bathtub.
"It was a shock, especially living there all that time and not knowing it was there, it was there for 32 years before we found it," Mr Harper added.
"If we wouldn't have sold the house we wouldn't have found it."

Mr Harper, who now lives in nearby Skennars Head, said the new owners also uncovered another piece of family history.
"He also found a cross, that I'd say Dad made for my sister Bronwyn for her dog, it's still got the writing on it from 1977, that was under the house."
